Da Long Tong Site Rescue Excavation and Construction Monitoring
Since 2003, Taipei City Government initiated a series of projects to revamp
old communities within Datong District. The centerpiece of these projects
was Da Lung Tong Culture Park. In 2009, the team conducted rescue
excavations at Da Long Tong, as Taipei Public Works Bureau’s “Construction
of Underground Parking for Taipei Municipal Dalong Primary School” project
would take place within the perimeter of the historic site. Archaeological
monitoring was conducted, and rescue excavation efforts were carried out at
the northern section of the site. All unearthed specimen were organized and
archived.
