Archaeological Excavation of Botanic Garden Site at Wanda - Zhonghe - Shulin Line’s LG02 Station
LG02 station of MRT’s Wanda - Zhonghe - Shulin is built using a cut-and-
cover construction method, and is situated above the botanic garden historic
site. Therefore, any further digging around the area could potentially
damage the site. In response to the Cultural Heritage Preservation Act
and earlier environmental commitments, the team conducted a thorough
investigation of the site to gain a better understanding of the distribution
range, depth, and abundance of the site’s ancient artifacts. By consolidating
aforementioned literature, construction blueprints, and excavation findings,
the team assessed the construction’s impact on the site and its cultural
heritage. Recommendations on the site’s management were also provided.
