Tainan’s Shui-Jiao Community Redevelopment: Rescue Survey and Cleanup Plan of Qing Dynasty Tomb
Between December of 2008 and January of 2009 during redevelopment construction
of Shui-Jiao Community, a not too ancient tomb was discovered near lane 116 of
Xing Zhong Street in the northeast district. This led to the discovery of a large group
of tombs that later were confirmed to date back to the late Qing Dynasty. The
tombs’ orientation was deemed to be of significance to the area’s topography, and
thus it was recommended to preserve the tombs.
